O.Torvald, the band representing Ukraine at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv held a press conference earlier today. The event was held in the club that their first public performance took place ten years ago. The members of the band expressed their gratitude for the support they received during the Ukrainian national selection. Timur Miroshnychenko, greenroom host of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, congratulated the artists on behalf of the Eurovision Song Contest team at the press conference. "It is very pleasant that a young rock band is going to present Ukraine. It is a good chance to show new Ukrainian music. We hope that the band is going to win love of the whole Europe. We have already started to prepare for 2017 Eurovision together with them".

As Host Country, Ukraine has qualified directly to the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. "We have to work on our vocals, English and have a lot of rehearsals. We are grateful to the STB channel, which did not leave us alone with our problems and offered to help. I would also like to remind TV viewers that we are just ordinary guys, we have never had producers, we have never taken part in any kind of talent show. We need to learn a lot in order to be prepared for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest", said Yevhen Halych, lead singer of the band.

Head of the Ukrainian national selection, Nataliia Franchuk, explained to the press how O.Torvald will prepare for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest; "Tomorrow we are going to the meeting with the band as well as experts, we are going to brainstorm regarding what should be done in order to make the performance of the Ukrainian artists the best. There is a lot of work to do".

O.Torvald will perform at the London Eurovision Party on Sunday 2nd April and Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam on Saturday 8th April.
