At the end of the press conference, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jon Ola Sand, gave the welcome package to the Head of the Ukrainian Delegation, Victoria Romanova, to kick-off the preparations to host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

"You created a moment for Europe tonight. It was something that resonated a long way, and we are proud of you. You got huge support from the juries and the audience tonight. I want to congratulate you and your team. We are delighted to come to Ukraine to stage the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest there. We will start our talks very soon. NTU has hosted the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest very well. It was a fantastic event, and I am sure you will do it again", Jon Ola Sand stated.

The final message of the press conference was: Welcome to Ukraine!

What are the next steps for Jamala? "I am going to work on my new album, of course. It will be quite soon. Even today I already wrote a new song for it", she said, continuing to sing a part of We Are Together accappella. "It was inspired by the slogan of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest."

Does Jamala have a message for all Australians who voted for her? "I am very happy for all Australians who voted for me. Australia competed with a wonderful and strong song. If I had voted tonight, I had voted for Australia."

Jamala also had a message for her great-grandmother, to whom she had dedicated her song 1944. "It's very difficult to explain how I feel. I would prefer that all these terrible things did not happen to my great-grandmother, and I would even prefer if this song did not exist."

"I have always believed that you need to believe in what you work. If your deed is fair, just do it. I want to thank my amazing team", Jamala continued. Victoria Romanova, Head of the Ukrainian Delegation, went on to introduce the team on the press conference stage: Yuriy Andrushenko, Yuriy Kostenko, Denis Kozlovskyy, and Alina Kosenko.

"When preparing for this performance, I listened to the songs from the soundtrack of Schindler's List, and I wished that my song would have the same power", she explained the universal message of her song.

What is the difference between Eurovision Song Contest and the New Wave contest? "Eurovision Song Contest is more difficult. In New Wave, you sing three difference songs, on three different occasions, but at Eurovision you have to find a way to convince the people with just one song."

Jamala first stated on her victory: "I don't have the words to describe my feelings in English. It was amazing. It was crazy. I was sure that, if you sing about truth, it can really touch people. And I was right."

How were her minutes on stage? "I was so appreciated by the warm audience in the Globe Arena. It was a great show - thanks to Stockholm and the organisers of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest! I was so happy to enjoy those three minutes every day. It is an honour, and a big responsibility that you voted for me. Thank you!"
