About Eduard Romanyuta

To this year’s Eurovision Song Contest Moldova sends Eduard Romanyuta, a singer of Ukrainian origin. On stage in Vienna, Eduard will perform I Want Your Love, produced by the Swedish publisher The Kennel.

Eduard Romanyuta was born in Ukraine. He stands on stage from the age of four. Since then, Eduard Romanyuta gained 28 national and international music awards.

The singer took part in the Ukrainian national selections four times. In 2012 he finished 5th with his entry I’ll Never Let Go. The music video of this song got over 1 million views on Youtube and brought him victory at the Baltic broadcaster OE TV awards. In the following year, Eduard reached the 3rd place with With My Heart, the music video of which was filmed by Hollywood World Studious in US.
In 2012, in duet with Sofo Gelovani, the Georgian representative in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, Eduard competed in the show 10+10. He also cooperated with such bands as t.A.T.u and Gorky Park. Recently, Romanyuta released debut album Conspiracy, with 13 tracks and 7 music videos.

I Want Your Love was created especially for Eduard’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, as Ukraine withdrew from the event this year, Eduard entered and won the national selection of the neighboring Moldova.

The 22-year-old singer is an independent artist with his own label. At the same time, Eduard is working on his PhD thesis in tax policy of Ukraine in the context of European integration. Eduard remains the most desirable bachelor and his heart is still free.

  3. We'll give life to the Eurovision slogan of this year, building a beautiful musical bridge between Moldova and Ukraine to all Europe!

What are the three most impressive facts about you?

  1. For my early musical achievements, the president of the Ukraine Leonid Kuchma held me in his arms. After that the press called me the "Lobertino Loretti of Ukraine".
  2. I had the nice experience of performing with former participants of Eurovision as T.A.T.U and Sophie Gelovani from Georgia.
  3. I have more than 1000 television appearances and I'm looking forward to sing for a huge audience in the Eurovision Song Contes.

Do you have a (lucky) routine before you go on stage?

Yes, we have special test for concentration.

Why is the Eurovision Song Contest important for you?

This competition means a lot for each artist, it's basically a new step in career and brings a totally different experience. In my case, it will mean the opportunity to improve myself, to meet new people, to show all my best on the stage and not the last, to entitle the expectations of those who supported me in Moldova and for sure my own country.
