Barei is a singer-songwriter from Madrid. Barei has a 15 year-long career and has two released albums. She reached the limelight in the Spanish music scene when she won the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Say Yay! which has reached #1 on the iTunes Spain chart on three different occasions since its release back in January.

Barei, stage name of Barbara Reyzábal, was born in Madrid on the 29th of March, 1982. Singer and composer of all her songs, her music career spans over 15 years. She has released two albums so far; Billete para no volver (No-return Ticket) and Throw The Dice. Her influences come from British pop, soul and funk, including artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, One Republic, Maroon 5, Sia or Pink.

Barei studied musical language, singing, guitar and piano. At 18 she participated at the Benidorm Song Festival. After that she moved to Miami where she started writing and recording her first demos. Since her return to Spain, she toured through small venues and last year Barei performed at the Starlite Festival in Marbella. Barei mainly sings and composes in English. She has written songs for other artists such as the Spanish singers Malú and Edurne as well as the Japanese performer May J. Barei has also written soundtracks for television.

Barei wrote her song for the Eurovision Song Contest, Say Yay! along with Ruben Villanueva and Victor Pua. It is an up tempo song with energy and strength that emotionally reflects the common struggle for self-improvement; a rallying cry for anyone who fights to accomplish their goals. As Barei says “It’s about living to try”. Say Yay! is a feel-good song that moves the listener both inside and out.
