The Reference Group
The Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group is the executive Expert Committee for all Members, its purpose being to control and guide the Eurovision Song Contest. The Reference Group was established by the European Broadcasting Union's Television Committee in 1998 and its main tasks are approving the development and future format of the Eurovision Song Contest, securing the financing, modernizing the brand and raising awareness and overseeing the yearly preparation by the Host Broadcaster. EBU organizers
A large deal of the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest is in good hands of the Host Broadcaster of the event. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) supports the Host Broadcaster and is the link with the participating EBU Member Broadcasters. As initator of the Eurovision Song Contest, the EBU and its partners are also taking care of the generic brand, international marketing activities, rights management, general communications, the official website and much, much more. The Host Broadcaster
Traditionally, the Eurovision Song Contest is being produced by the national public broadcaster of the country that won the year before. This means, that Russian broadcaster Channel One is taking care of the production, in close cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union and over 40 participating Member Broadcasters from across Europe. Heads of Delegation
In football, each club has a coach, at the Olympics, each delegation has a chef de mission and at the Eurovision Song Contest, each delegation is being managed by the Head of Delgation. Each public broadcaster taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest appoints a Head of Delegation. This person is the European Broadcasting Union's contact person and the leader of his/her delegation, which includes the Head of Press, performers, song writers, composers, backing vocalists and other people.
