Tickets for the 54th Eurovision Song Contest went on sale on the 16th of March at 12:00 CET. Thousands of people from across Europe had the chance to watch one (or more!) of the nine Dress Rehearsals and three Live Shows with their own eyes!
Apart from two Semi-Finals and the Final, the organisers gave the audience an opportunity to see the Dress Rehearsals. There were three Dress Rehearsals before each Semi-Final and before the Grand Final. All of them were fully-featured concerts with live sound, costumes and special effects. The difference was that they were not be broadcast by the participating countries, and that of course, no voting took place.
The tickets for the Dress Rehearsalswere cheaper than for the Live Shows of the Semi-Finals and the Final - from approximately EUR 7 up to EUR 40. The cost of the tickets for the Semi-Finals (12th and 14th of May) was from EUR 18 up to EUR 445. The cost of the tickets for the Final (16th of May) was from EUR 22 to EUR 667. Approximately 20,000 people had a chance to attend each show.
Ticket validation procedure
There was no chance to get admission to the Olympiyski Arena with counterfeit tickets, even if they looked exactly like the original tickets. For the first time, spectators received electronic tickets with several security features, including a hologram and a barcode containing information about the date, time, row and the seat number. The authenticity of the tickets will be checked by electronic testing devices at the entrance to the arena.
