Eurovision stars hits on YouTube

With still some two months on the counter before the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, several of this year's participants are already hits on the popular video platform YouTube. Eurovision.tv gathered the top-10 and estimates that all of this year's participants have been watched some 15 million times!

Each of the 43 participants is present on YouTube with their music video or national final performance, some uploaded up to 50 times. Although it is hard to determine the exact number of views with so many videos available, Eurovision.tv made a rough calculation of the total views of each 2008 Eurovision Song Contest entry. It has to be mentioned that the songs chosen earlier have an advantage over those who have been selected closer to the submission deadline (17th of March).

This is our roughly projected YouTube top-10;

  1. Spain - Rodolfo Chikilicuatre - Baila El Chicki Chicki
    8,400,000 views
  2. Turkey - Mor ve Ötesi - Deli
    1,300,000 views
  3. Ireland - Dustin the Turkey - Irelande Douze Pointe
    1,200,000 views
  4. Greece - Kalomira - Secret Combination
    1,100,000 views
  5. Sweden - Charlotte Perrelli - Hero
    880,000 views
  6. Germany - No Angels - Disappear
    800,000 views
  7. Poland - Isis Gee - For Life
    490,000 views
  8. Russia - Dima Bilan - Believe
    400,000 views
  9. Cyprus - Evdokia Kadi - Femme Fatale
    330,000 views
  10. Serbia - Jelena Tomaševic - Oro
    220,000 views

What this means for the outcome of the contest is highly unpredicable. And don't forget... with still some eight weeks to go before the big night, anything can change!
