Surprise, surprise! Last year's winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Alexey from Belarus, showed up at the press conference of Ruslan Alehno, who represents Belarus at the grown-up's competition this year.

Alexey, who wore the same orange jacket that brought him luck at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, was born in Minsk on the 18th April 1996. His father is 35, he is a heart surgeon. In his childhood, his dad finished musical school, and was a soloist of a choir. His mother is 35 - she is a doctor as well - in her childhood she also finished musical school. Alexey has a younger sister, who is 6 years old, and she practices dances.

During the press conference, the Belarusian delegation proudly sang Alexey's winning song, S Druzyami.

Belarus won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and 2007. The competition, held for the first time in 2003, is traditionally being held in the last 6 weeks of the year. The 2008 running takes place in Lemesos, Cyprus, on the 22nd of November.
