Every year, the world's most used online search engine Google publishes a list featuring the most searched terms on the web, called Google Zeitgeist. After adding up all date from Europe, the search term 'Eurovision 2009' was the fastest rising search term during the first half of the year, beating Susan Boyle and Lady Gaga.

Serbian broadcaster, RTS has announced that it is to introduce a new selection format to choose its representative for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. One composer will contribute songs to a contest where various artists chosen by the composer and RTS will compete for the right to represent Serbia in Oslo in May.
