ERT, the Greek broadcaster, just completed another dazzling show, their national final in Athens presented by Rika Vayani and Tzeni Balatsinoù, with seven acts competing for the right to represent Greece in Oslo (in order of appearance; winner in bold):

  • Christos Hatzinasios - Illusion
  • Sunny Baltzis & Second Skin - Game Of Life
  • Manos Pyrovolakis - Kivotos Tou Noe
  • Giorgos Alkaios & Friends - OPA
  • Giorgos Karadimos - Polemao
  • Melisses - Kinesos
  • Émigré - Touch Me Deep Inside

Among the guest stars, Katerine Avgoustakis, who was earlier disqualified from the competition due to a leaking of her song.

The winner was chosen by a mixture of jury and televote (50% each). Giorgos Alkaios & Friends have now the hard task of representing Greece, which is one of the most successful countries in the recent history of the contest, achieving their first ever victory in 2005 with Elena Paparizou's My Number One and finishing in the Top 10 ranking for the past six years in a row. Last year Sakis Rouvas gave the hellenic nation a 7th place with This Is Our Night.
