Theme art presented, ticket news announced
Moscow, Russia -

The 54th Eurovision Song Contest has a look! Today, the Reference Group of the contest approved the design materials presented by Host Broadcaster Channel One Russia. This year's running will not be accompanied by a theme slogan, as did happen in previous years.

The colorful design, often referred to as the 'sub-logo', was made by The Red Square, the production company Channel One picked to work with for this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The main design element has the shape of a 'fantasy bird'. It can be applied on various colors and surfaces, both in its totality as well as in parts. It accompanies the generic Eurovision Song Contest logo, this year carrying the Russian flag. Download a larger version..

In the next couple weeks, Eurovision.tv will be slightly rebranded, featuring the new look. What do you think of the design theme for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest? Don't hesitate to post your comment underneath this article!

Channel One Russia also presented an updated version of their concept for the so-called postcards, that will introduce each song. The 35-second clips will be produced in the next couple of months.

Ticket sales in February

Ticket sales for the three live shows and the dress rehearsals is scheduled to start in the second half of February. Channel One also announced that tickets will not be sold in pacakages. Ten different categories will be made available, and prices will vary from approximately EUR 20,- for the Semi-Final Dress Rehearsals, up to an estimated EUR 650,- for the most expensive VIP tickets to the Final. Regular Final tickets will be considerably cheaper than that. Tickets will be made available through the internet and as usual, members of Eurovision Song Contest fan club OGAE will have the opportunity to purchase front-row seats through their national OGAE branches. More detailed information about the ticket sales will be made available through Eurovision.tv in due time.

oh, it's a beautifull idea to make this "sub-logo". I like it very much, but it's necessary to write lower: "FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE" ;))) It will be better ;)))

I guess, this year will be very cliffhanger..
Turkey ( Hadise ) and Greece ( Sakis )..
They will try for first..
I support Hadise.. Her song ( Düm Tek Tek ) is totally perfect.. I have listened her other songs, all of them is really perfect. Specially "Don't Ask" and "My Body".
How will be song of Sakis ? I wonder it so much..
Good Luck to everyone from Portugal ( Specially to Hadise )
Boa Sorte!

No slogan?! I was really hoping for "From Russia With Love"! It would make sense with the heart in the ESC logo!
