Norway: Alexander Rybak and Ovi to final!
Alexander Rybak and Ovi were the lucky qualifier's of the third Norwegian heat in their quest to find a winner for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Both managed to charm Norway's televoting audience and collected the highest number of votes!
Tonight saw the 3rd of four Norwegian Semi-Finals of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest season. Out of seven songs presented tonight in Grenland, two qualified directly for the grand final which will take place on the 21st of February in Oslo's Spektrum (qualifiers in bold):
- Sichelle - Left Right
- The Rebelettes - Soul Train
- Ovi - Seven Second
- Jane Helen - Shuffled
- Foxy - Do It Again
- Sunny - Carrie
- Alexander Rybak - Fairytale
Sunny and Jane Helen will have another chance to qualify for the final in the so called Last Chance round which will take place next Saturday.
Norway was drawn into the second Semi-final of the 2009 Moscow contest - last year, the country reached a respectable 5th place in the final in Belgrade with Hold On Be Strong by Maria Haukaas Storeng. Maria is one of the presenters of this year's Norwegian selection and will also appear alongside Anna Sahlene in the Swedish selection Melodifestivalen later this month, performing Killing Me Tenderly.
