After two semi-finals, on Thursday and Friday, tonight is the night when the singer and song to represent FYR Macedonia in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be selected. 16 acts qualified for the final, and the winner will be picked by a 50/50 combination of televoting and an expert jury.
The FYR Macedonian representatives in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest are being chosen in the Skopje Festival, a three-day show, broadcast live from the Univerzalna Sala in Skopje. In the last two days, two semi-finals have taken place, and in each of them, eight finalists were chosen out of sixteen candidates. Tonight, the final concert will take place, and this is the full line-up of artists and songs:

Just like in the semi-finals, the result of the final will be decided by a 50/50 combination of televoting and the verdict of an expert jury, consisting of twelve members. Last year, FYR Macedonia came 11th in the Second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest and, thus, did not qualify for the Final. The best result to date was reached by Elena Risteska in 2006 - she came 12th in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Ninanajna.
