Armenia: Sisters performing together

Yerevan,Armenia -

The Arshakyanner sisters will perform for Armenia this year at the Eurovision Song Contest. Will one plus one equal more than two on stage?

Anush and Inga's way to Europe's favourite TV-show started in quite a traditional way - their song Jan Jan was sent in to a public contest, organised by the broadcaster AMPTV, then chosen to be in the final of 21 songs. But when they took the stage, there was nothing usual about them - they were an extremely talented duo and if that was not enough then they're also sisters!

They've both studied music in the same music school, later a music instrument on a more professional level, then in the same jazz-vocal department and acted in the same theatre. It's not a surprise they started composing and singing in their early childhood.

Watch the talented sisters' pop-folk song below and tell us what you think!

Anush and Inga will perform sixth on the 12th of May in Moscow, taking part in the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Read more about them here.

Will they qualify and perhaps even win, what do you think?

Looks like azeri song writer Tofiq Quliyev has "inspired" many armenian song writers :)

I would say, that i respect those sisters not for the nor par song, but for their creativity and professionality. It's really an adorable to read about their background and achievements. My vote is definitly theirs. For those Azerbaijani friends i would say, stop acting like fools, hatread is a losers game, keep politics away from this noble art. shame on you...

Wow! It's a great song. I think it's the only one that represents the cultural and national identity of the people and the country it comes from. There is something genuine in this song that distinguishes it from others.

Inga and Anush can certainly get high this year- the song has caught the trend of the year (and a few before) which is pop with a slight whiff of etno.
It is the best song of the songs combining it with Eastern music, with Azerbaijan a little bit behind, and Turkey way behind.
Not to mention the dance- it´s so catchy in itself I actually stood dancing on the living-room floor when I heard it for the first time!
Inga and Anush sing very well both apart and together, so I think this can make the top 10 in Moscow if people just vote for it.
Good luck Armenia!!

Hi All,
Song of inga and Anush niot bad, I will say in EthnoPop it is something faboulous.
I hope girls will win this time. Anyway do not pay attention to the Azery and Turk comments, theirs pain iz Eurovision, they are feeling very bad then they remenber their 2 ..ys that was shouting last time. And if you see they have no culture at all even here. If you can read russian please read this note about azery microbs and their reaction http://www.yerkramas.org/publ/6-1-0-51
Armenia can be 1 this time. Be organized and vote for our song! Good luck to all of us.
