Istanbul,Turkey -

Turkey will be represented by the Belgian star Hadise. The best friend of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest participant for Belgium, had previously said she wouldn't take part but reconsidered when she was asked by TRT.

The Turkish singer for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Hadise, was internally chosen as Turkey's entry for Moscow by the broadcaster TRT last fall. Hadise presented her song Düm Tek Tek during TRT's New Year's show for the first time which was met by approval by both Turkish media and fans.

She had previously told the media she would never participate when her best friend Kate Ryan didn't qualify in 2006 for the Final of Europe's favourite TV-show with her song Je T'Adore. However, she changed her mind, luckily! You can see her song below.

Hadise was born in 1985, in Belgium as a daughter of a Turkish couple. Took her first steps in music with the talent contest Pop Idol in 2003. Being discovered here, her first professional work, the single Sweat was a chart success and gained interest from the Belgian audience. Six months later her second single Stir Me Up was released. This was the song that earned recognition for Hadise in Turkey, where her roots are. Hadise’s strong vocals and high dynamics of the song was acknowledged all through Europe.

She will perform ninth in the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, on the 12th of May. You can read more about her here.

How will she do? Better than her friend Kate Ryan? Tell us below!

even if the style is similar to last year's Armenian and Ukrainian songs, it is better than some stupidity like LAST year's Spanish or Bosnian songs.
BTW: THIS year's Spanish and Bosnian songs are great:) Turkey and Norway are also great. Norway;)

It is becoming obvious to me that this year Eurasia will rise since we will have Istanbul 2010 or Baku 2010. Hadise has staying power and her song is quite catchy. There are rumors that she does not sing well live, but you have to remember Sertab and "Every Way that I can" from Turkey 2003 who won Eurovision and brought the contest to Istanbul without having such a great voice. If Hadise does a good job singing and dancing, she will win. Hadise cancelled her tour in Scandinavia and it was a good tactical move because she will get little votes from those countries since they are enamoured with Alexander Rybak, Malena Ernman, Waldo's People, Johanna and Niels Brinck. I predict that Turkey will win ESC 2009 followed closely by Azerbaijan and Bosnia...then Norway, Sweden, Greece, United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.
