Finland: dance-song with a message

Image
Waldo's People are one of Finland's most successful dance acts. Their last two albums - one of it being a "Best of" collection - reached the official Finnish top 40 charts. Paranoid is their latest release and it cracked the top 20 earlier in February. Their Eurovision Song Contest attempt Lose Control deals with a sensitive issue of today - homelessness.

Rainbows and spring flowers for Portugal

When the Portuguese representatives Flor-de-Lis took the stage for their second rehearsal, the hall was suddenly filled with an air of happiness. Ireland

You can read how the rehearsal and press conference of the Irish participant went in their article.

Ireland has the girl power!

Image
One of the more rocky songs this year is Et Cetera by all girl-band Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy. The group had won the Irish national final in February against 5 competitors and got top marks from the televoters and almost all the juries. Ireland's song this year is very contemporary with hints of Kelly Clarkson's successful hits here and there. Will this modern approach take the Irish to the final?

In today's rehearsal, he further improved his camera work, and in the end, everything looked very professional and elaborate on the TV screens.

Secure Norwegian performance

Image
Norway's Alexander Rybak rehearsed for the second time on Friday evening. The performance of Fairytale was unchanged from the previous performance, and the Norwegian camp was calm and collected. But young Alexander Rybak has become the focus of much attention, and he was urgent to keep his concentration before the rehearsal.

I believe that Sakis Rouvas will give a good performance. As concerned 1st semi final i liked Turkey and Romania. When i saw the videoclip of Romania i liked it very much but live i didn't like the romantic style on stage with flowers. I expected it to be more energetic and with more dancing. Anyway, i will watch today 2nd semi final - Sakis Rouvas.

Yes, Finland in my top 3.
A little bit of nostalgia from the 1990s isn´t too bad, and seeing as the 1990s actually are less than ten years away, even though the millennium has changed..
My favourite song ever is Iceland´s entry from 1997, so it might affect me a little.
But yes, I like the song, and I think it will fare somewhat well.
Not sure how well, but it will probably manage the final.

Here come the rest!
8.Poland (Nice ballad, but quite anonymous.)
9.Serbia (Intelligent, catchy song. I like Marko´s hair.)
10.Latvia (Repetitive, but fairly good.)
11.Cyprus (Fair song, but Christina can´t sing, sadly.)
12.Croatia (A Balkan ballad without real emotion isn´t good.)
13.Romania (Boring, lacklustre, overrated and over-advertised. Sorry, Romania, but Tornero remains my favourite Romanian entry. And bad things need more advertising.)

I´ll list these countries with commentary, including my own:

1.Norway (The second best song this year, closely with Sweden. I love you Alexander!)
2.Armenia (Everyone move your body, we are dancing Jan Jan. Need I say more?)
3.Finland (Would´ve been second, but Waldo is in a fever and flu today.)
4.Bosnia&Herzegovina (Beautiful! Not as good as Hari Mata Hari, but it´s good.)
5.Portugal (REAL MUSIC, and I like the song and the singer.)
6.Ireland (Girl power à la Bangles is always nice.)
7.Malta (Sorry, Chiara. You sing FANTASTIC, but the song isn´t as good as Angel.)
