Demy will fly the Greek flag in Kyiv in May with the song This is Love. Demy first entered the limelight in 2011 and has gone on to have several number one singles and albums. Earlier this year, broadcaster ERT selected Demy to represent Greece and her song for Kyiv was chosen by the public in a national selection in March.

Demy's love of music started at an early age when she took up piano lessons when she was five years old, something that she continues with today. In addition to her chart career, Demy has also started a stage career resulting in leading roles in big scale musical productions. Her musical influences include jazz, soul, rock 'n' roll and RnB.

During the national selection in Greece, viewers had the choice of three songs for Demy and they voted overwhelmingly for This is Love. The dynamic team of composers also include Dimitris Kontopoulos and director Fokas Evaggelinos. Dimitris has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest seven times: in 2007 with Belarus, in 2008 with Ukraine, in 2009 with Greece, in 2013 with Azerbaijan, in 2014 and 2016 with Russia. Each time these entries have resulted in strong scores with You Are The Only One achieving first place in the public vote last year.

"The first most interesting aspect about our entry is the powerful music, vibrant and yet charged with emotion," said Demy. "The second most interesting aspect is the inventive stage setting. The third is a secret for you to find out," she teased. A self-confessed Eurovision fan, Demy is keen to take to the stage in Kyiv: "I am thrilled at the idea of taking part in one of the best shows in the world, and get to connect with a huge international audience."
