Emotions in the dressing room area before show

Emotions in the dressing room area before show
Azerbaijan's Nikki meets X Factor judge and Jedwards manager Louis Walsh (copyright: Glen Webb (EBU))
Düsseldorf, Germany -

With just a short time to go until the show starts, the competing artists in tonights Eurovision Song Contest are all making their final preparations backstage, and there is a buzzing atmosphere in the dressing rooms area.

A lot of delegations stayed behind closed doors in their dressing rooms tonight, and a lot of singing behind closed doors could be heard.

Iceland's Sjonni's Friends were amongst the most relaxed, sitting on stairs playing their guitar and singing for the other delegations to enjoy.

Amaury Vassili was visible a lot as he had many photograph requests from the other competing artists and volunteers.

Ireland's Jedward were for once quiet and nowhere to be seen, however their dressing room door was decorated with interesting posters.

Check out the gallery below to see some of the dressing room images.

@Fedor from Serbia. How can you say that about the UK after the way Serbia trashed Balkan Europe in the 90s. If it wasn't for the UK and NATO, Kosovo would have ended up an uninhabited waste land. Plesae think on before you comment, its a song contest for gods sake not a political conference! report to the moderator

you right Azer-jan does not have a strong diaspora in Europe, but this is was Muslim-majority country in this Eurovision 2011. And muslims diaspora in Europe very big today. report to the moderator

The problem with UK is their great negative political influence in other countries lives.People do not forget that! Simply you have to be more friendly and respectful to others and less arrogant and cocky.Unfortunately ,if you ask everyone in the south and east Europe, including France, they all think the same. report to the moderator
