The Greek broadcaster ERT might return to the formula they used last in 2008 for selecting their entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. This means they'll abandon the internal selection format next year.
This year ERT selected the artist to represent Greece via an internal selection. This meant the broadcaster chose Sakis Rouvas to be the artist to take Greece to Moscow already in the summer of 2008. The song itself was chosen by the televoters later.
This year, however, this is about to change, the fansite Esctoday.com reports. Apparently ERT will return to the format they used in 2008. Local record labels will be invited to submit their proposals. Of course, the broadcaster will have the last say about the finalists, songs and the entire process.
This year Sakis Rouvas brought home the seventh place with This Is Our Night from the Final of the 2009 edition of Europe's favourite TV-show.
