Vienna, Austria -

Österreich rockt den Song Contest, that's the title of the Austrian national final for Baku, which you can watch live tonight in our WebTV player, starting from 20:15 CET! Ten acts will compete, and in the end, it will be up to the TV viewers to decide who will be representing the Alpine republic in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.

After several weeks of waiting, the excitement about the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Austria will reach its first peak tonight, when the singer and song for Baku will be chosen in two rounds of voting.

First of all, the number of candidates will be narrowed down from ten to two by means of televoting. Then, the two super-finalists will perform again, and the TV public will decide who will be flying the Austrian flag in the capital of Azerbaijan in May. This is the order of appearance for tonight:

  1. James Cottriall - Stand Up
  2. Krautschädl - Einsturzgefohr
  3. Valerie- Comme ça
  4. 3punkt5 - Augenblick
  5. Conchita Wurst - That's What I Am
  6. Mary Broadcast Band - How Can You Ask Me!
  7. !DelaDap - Don’t Turn Around
  8. Papermoon - Vater, Father, Mon Père
  9. Trackshittaz - Woki mit deim Popo
  10. Norbert Schneider - Medicate My Blues Away

Initially, !DelaDap were supposed to sing Crazy Swing, but it turned out that the song had been performed in public prior to September 1st, 2011, making it ineligible according to the rules of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. You can listen to all the entries on the ORF website.

Tonight's show will be presented by Mirjam Weichselbraun, Robert Kratky and Andi Knoll, who is also the current Austrian commentator in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Eric Papilaya, who represented Austria in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, will be one of the special guests tonight, as well as Petra Frey, who took part in 1994 with Für Den Frieden Der Welt, and Marianne Mendt, who sang Musik for Austria in 1971.

Of course, Nadine Beiler, who made Austria proud by securing the first ever 12 points from neighbouring Germany last year, will also join the show, just like several Austrian celebrities, including Peter Rapp, Christian Kolonovits and Thomas Rabitsch.

Are you curious already? Then don't forget to tune in to the webcast of the Austrian final, live tonight at 20:15 CET in our ESCTV Player!

Oh yes I see now they have another song... I really loved Crazy Swing of !DelaDap. Still they are my favourite in this final.

I really hope they don't send Woki mit deim Popo.... It's a stupid song.. report to the moderator

I hope we will send Trackshittaz, even thought "Oida Taunz" was way better than "Woki mit deim Popo" . But I'm sure they would rock the ESC!

Conchita Wurst would be good too since she's different and people will remember her.. same with Trackshittaz by the way :)

All the other entries, except for James Cottrial are boring as hell. If one of them will win tonight we won't even reach the final.

So to all my Austrian fellows... LETS SEND TRACKSHITTAZ, CONCHITA OR JAMES TO BAKU :) report to the moderator

Probably none of our songs/contestants will be able to enter even the final, worlds away from a winning-chance. I think it's a pretty poor choice we have this year. If I could pick the act, it would be 3Punkt5, because this is somehow something different for the ESC, but I do not like our pre-choice, but we will see... report to the moderator

My personal favorite is Papermoon! I love everything about this song! But I am not sure it is right for Eurovision. Maybe Conchita or Trackshittaz would be better... report to the moderator
