Four acts through in Finland
The second program of UMK, short for "Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu" (Contest for new music), was shown in Finland tonight. Six of the selected artists had a special following in this second part of the series and two of them had to leave the competition.
Finland is using a new method this year to pick their Eurovision Song Contest entry. It is a contest for new music or as their broadcaster YLE has called it, UMK.
Last week the 12 participants were revealed and tonight, after performing live in front of the jury, four of them went through (in bold):
- Jari & Taika
- Mica Ikonen
- Pernilla Karlsson
- Kirahvi nimeltä Tuike
Next Friday the remaining six acts will be featured in the third show, and a further three will proceed to the next stage.
