Tonight: Melodifestivalen 2012 Final
Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest pre-selection among all the participating countries; not only in terms of viewers and success, but also because it involves a tour around Sweden which lasts for 6 weeks. The 2012 edition comes to an end tonight with the Final in Stockholm.
After four semi-finals and a second chance round in the past five weeks, tonight it will be decided who represent Sweden in Baku. You'll be able to follow the show tonight from 20:00 CET through the Swedish Television website.
The ten songs that managed to qualify for the final are:
- Shout It Out - David Lindgren
- Jag Reser Mig Igen - Thorsten Flinck & Revolutionsorkestern
- Mystery - Dead by April
- Why Start A Fire - Lisa Miskovsky
- Baby Doll - Top Cats
- Euphoria - Loreen
- Soldiers - Ulrik Munther
- Mirakel – Björn Ranelid feat. Sara Li
- Why Am I Crying - Molly Sandén
- Amazing – Danny Saucedo
The top favourite to win the final is Loreen with her song Euphoria written by Thomas G:son and Peter Boström. Thomas G:son already has a song in the final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest as he co-wrote the Spanish entry Quédate Conmigo performed by Pastora Soler.
Danny Saucedo came second in last year's Melodifestivalen and will fight until the very end to represent his country this year. Molly Sandén came third for Sweden at the 2006 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The final of Melodifestivalen takes place tonight at the Globe Arena in Stockholm and the winner will represent Sweden at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku following the footsteps of last year's bronze medalist Eric Saade and his Popular.
