Rome, Italy -

The Italian broadcaster RAI just confirmed to that, in a decision taken jointly by them and Universal Music Italy, the record company of the Italian participant Nina Zilli, the song that she will perform in Baku will be the title track of her album L'Amore È Femmina.

Nina Zilli was announced as the singer that will represent Italy at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest during the Final of the 2012 Festival Di Sanremo. It was then mentioned that the song she sang at the Italian contest, Per Sempre, would not be her entry in Baku.

But one week later the Sanremo entry was confirmed as her Eurovision song. Moments ago that decision was changed as the Italian national television, RAI just shared with us.

RAI and Universal Music Italy announce officially today that they decided to change the song that will represent Italy at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. It will not longer be the Sanremo song Per Sempre but the title track of Nina Zilli's latest album L'Amore È Femmina (Love Is Female). It's not clear yet if the song will be performed fully in Italian or in Italian/English.

L'Amore È Femmina (Love Is Female) is written by Nina herself along with Christian Rabb, Kristoffer Sjokvist, Frida Molander and Charlie Mason.

Italy participates in the Final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest on the 26th of May in Baku.

La représentante italienne qui chante en anglais:une hérésie tant la langue italienne chantée est supérieure mélodiquement à la langue anglaise. Quel gachis! report to the moderator

Nina is a very good singer and performer. "Per sempre" is one of her best songs. I'm really worried for the change to "Amore è femmina". Anyway and anyhow Nina will do her best! report to the moderator

.. singing in native languages provides such a varity enjoyment !
and it really is so wonderful to listen all our languages once each year ..
~ most of times the meaning of lyrics has not that importance ~
song's feeling of course is always given succesfully by the performers .. report to the moderator

its an ok song. i adore her voice and everything she does.. however the orginal entry for italy which was in the san remo festival she sang PER SEMPRE. and i feel that song is more nostalgic, romantic, extremely classy and memorable as songs were in the 60;s. she is iconic and i feel it was a mistake for italy to change its song,. always stick with your instincts. i feel that would have been the winner. it could have been the title of a film or she could be the singer for a Bond movie.. its still not too late to change back. ! after all it would bring attention to italy that they have two good songs!
either way i wish her good luck. she has my uk vote because she is a classic singer who stands out from the crowd. this song is more run of the mill which is now the entry but i do wish they would change it back to in my opinion the better song of per sempre..
who would ever have thought there is a cross between sophia loren and amy winehouse.
total class is the result! report to the moderator

I love this song ! Such a change to hear a really good tune and catchy beat, which should do really well in the final.

Although I like the full Italian version, I think the English/Italian version is better, not just because I can understand it more, but that it will also appeal to more people, especially the 'lazy' British (because most Britons rarely learn another language !). It should have more Italian in it though - not just at the end; it needs to be a competitive song that's loved by many but also celebrates what it is to be Italian !

I'm not, by the way, Italian - I'm English (of Irish background and French ancestry) but I do love my languages too !!

grazie italia !! such a variety song - unexpectibly unfolding to the end - with so many different musical styles all in one jazz - do not need the english language at all !
italiano is so musical we love to listen everytime ! bonna fortuna this year ! report to the moderator

I REALLY DON'T GET IT!!!!!!!! PER SEMPRE WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND VERY SPECIAL.......... this new song is just another one that don't differentiate from the rest, and on top of everything she loses her own style, and as Cobaju says, it looks now a very bad copy of Amy Winehouse........ report to the moderator
