Serbia: 171 songs submitted for Beosong 2013

Serbian broadcaster RTS has revealed that a grand total of 171 entries were submitted for Beosong 2013, the competition in which Serbia's entry for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen.

As the entry deadline date was earlier this week, the 171 submissions are now being checked to confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria, and then a selection committee will whittle the 171 songs down to a total of 15 which will compete in Beosong 2013.

The selection committee will comprise of music professionals and they will have the task of deciding which are the best 15 to progress to the televised stages of Beosong 2013 on 2nd and 3rd of March.

15 songs will compete in the semi final on March 2nd, with the top five of these progressing to the final the following day.

SMS votes alone will determine who wins and therefore represents Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

Serbia will participate in the second half of the First Semi-Final of Europe's Favourite TV Show on Tuesday 14th May. Stay tuned to for further announcements once the lucky 15 have been chosen.
