A gentle love song for Spain
Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me) is the title of the Spanish Eurovision entry, and today Pastora Soler rehearsed her love song for the first time on stage in Baku. With her strong voice, she easily captured the attention of everyone in the arena on this late Saturday afternoon!
Before her first rehearsal, Pastora Soler told us that she is not desperate, but very eager to enter the stage. The waiting since she was selected for Eurovision was so long, she hadn't realised that before. "I can't wait to see my performance on the TV screen in the viewing room", she admitted.
Coming from summery Spain, Pastora is enjoying the hot weather in Baku right now: "The temperature here is perfect for me. I'm always very worried about my voice, but the warm weather here is great for my voice."
In her first rehearsal today, Pastora Soler really proved that she had the voice that is needed to sell the powerful ballad Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me)! She showed an emotional performance, working well with the cameras.
When the song neared its climax, she was joined on stage by her backing vocalists - three female and two male, all dressed in black - and the till then dark scene was lighted in bright colours. The LED backdrop showed light pink shapes, alternating with a dark blue setting. Later on it changed to a scene reminding of fireworks to the end of the song.
There was no Spanish press conference today. Stay with Eurovision.tv to get up-to-date information on the upcoming Spanish press conferences, to be held May 20th and May25th!
