Brussels, Belgium -

As previously announced, Roberto Bellarosa will represent Belgium at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö in May. Now plans for a radio final with three songs have been revealed by RTBF.

Belgian francophone broadcaster RTBF praised Roberto Bellarosa for his outstanding voice, when discussing the reasons for internally selecting the young artist.

Bellarosa shot to fame after winning the first series of The Voice Belgique, which gave him a lot of media exposure and laid the foundations for his future success. His songs including the single Je Crois have been played frequently on radio stations in Belgium.

A three-song radio selection

Now RTBF have released details of how Roberto's song will be chosen by way of a three-song national selection to be aired on Vivacité Radio and on Sunday the 16th of December. Radio listeners and visitors to the website will have 50% of the vote whilst the remainding 50% will go to a professional jury.

The songs have not been selected as yet but this will happen shortly and snippets will be presented from the 1st of December.

At a press conference held today, Roberto expressed his initial doubts taking part in a new competition but was won over by the fact that he was internally chosen.

Stay tuned to for more news about the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, including the Belgian final on the 16th of December.

Bad and cheap idea Belgium! It's not a participant for "The Voice" you're gonna chose.... It's for the ESC where looks and performance are also important.... report to the moderator

Well, this is something new, with a radio final, sounds interesting(see what I did there, it SOUNDS interesting, because it's on the radio) :-P

Anyways, even if he has a great voice, he still needs a good song as well, cause it's been seen before, where people with great voices, still fails to qualify.
It also says that 50% goes to the radio listeners and visitors, well that's a interesting fact, cause votes from the whole world can effect the results then.

Good luck to Belgium then, looks like I'll listen to the sneak peaks on 2nd December(Just a reminder, but JESC 2012 is on 1st December), so I'll spent the day on JESC instead. report to the moderator
