Cyprus present their love song for Malmö

Today, Cyprus will present their song for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Appropriately, for Valentine's Day, it will be a love song, a ballad, sung in Greek, called An Me Thimase, which means 'If You Remember Me'. The song will be performed by Despina Olympiou.

This year Cypriot broadcaster, CyBC made an internal selection to decide their entry for Europe's Favourite TV Show and chose the singer Despina Olympiou to represent the island nation.

Despina Olympiou has had a very successful career spanning from 1992 and still going strong in 2013. Last year she cooperated with Stereo Mike on the single Den s' Afino Apo Ta Matia Mou, which was a huge success in Greece and Cyprus.

The song, An Me Thimase, has been composed by two Cypriot citizens, with music by Andreas Giorgallis and lyrics by Zenon Zindilis.

The entry will be premiered today at 16:00 CET at a special press conference. This can be watched either by satellite (RIKSAT) or via the website of CyBC.

Despina Olympiou will also be making a guest appearance at the Greek national selection, Ellinikos Telikos 2013 on Monday the 18th of February.
