Düsseldorf: From the red carpet to the welcome party

In our last articles, we have reflected back upon some of the delegates parties, and took a look at the arrival of the stars upon the red carpet at the official welcome party in Düsseldorf. Today, we follow the artists from the red carpet and see what they got up to at the welcome reception.

When all of the stars had made their entrance, greeting the fans and assembled press on the red carpet, they entered the official welcome reception for a chance to relax and meet other delegates after some long days of rehearsals.

A grand opening

Delegates gathered in a theatre, to watch the formal opening of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, you can see the ceremony in our video below:-

After the official part of the evening was over, guests mingled with other artists, fans and press and enjoyed the hospitality laid on by broadcaster NDR.

Dressed to the nines!
