Gor Sujyan to sing "Lonely Planet" for Armenia
The selection of the Armenian Eurovision song has taken place tonight. In an entertaining TV show, Gor Sujyan, who had previously been internally selected to represent his home country, sang four songs, out of which a 50/50 combination of jury votes and televoting picked the winning entry. It's a very nice ballad Lonely Planet!
Lonely Planet will be the title of the Armenian entry in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. It will be sung by Gor Sujyan and his band Dorians. It's a very nice but sad story about the planet and someone who can save it. The blue colours have been displayed on the LEDs during its performance.
The music of Lonely Planet is written by the world-famous English guitarist and songwriter Tony Iommi who also is a founder member of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The lyrics is written by Armenian Vardan Zadoyan.
In an exciting show tonight, the Armenian TV public was asked to cast their votes on four proposed songs. Their verdict was combined with the votes of a jury. The televoting was open after all four songs have been performed.
