Baku, Azerbaijan -

Several artists at the press conferences this year have tipped Sweden as a possible favourite to win this year's contest. It is also very popular with the fans, so the second rehearsal of Loreen with her song Euphoria was eagerly anticipated.

Before going on stage for her second rehearsal we took the opportunity to take a few photographs with Loreen while she was in make-up.

The Swedish team have come well prepared to Baku, and have a clear idea of how they want to song to look on the stage. The only real noticeable change from the first rehearsal was that Loreen is now wearing her stage costume, so we are edging closer as to how the performance will look in the Second Semi-Final next week.

Snow motion and slow motion

Loreen looked calm and relaxed during her rehearsals, even while the crew were trying to sort out the snow effect, which took up some of her valuable rehearsal time. The LED screens show some snow towards the end of the song, but there is also the addiiton of the artificial snow which falls on Loreen herself and her backing dancer.

At the conclusion of the song it features a nice slow motion effect of Loreen as she jumps back down to the ground.

Happy with changes requested

Loreen had changed from her stage outfit for the press conference, and was accompanied by her dancer, the three female backing vocalists, and Christer Bjorkman. The composers behind the song were also present in the hall, but weren't up on the stage to take questions.

The Swedish delegation were very happy with their second rehearsal, and that the changes they had requested following the first rehearsal had been done to thir satisfaction.

One journallist asked whether those changes had included a change in the male backing dancer, as in the first rehearsal the dancer had unfortunately dropped Loreen. Despite this, they have retained the same dancer, and put the error down to all the various distractions within the hall, the cameras etc, as in the first rehearsal they were all still getting used to everything.

Loreen seems to be handling the pressure of being the favourite very well, and remarked that it wasn't all about her, and that it was about us. She doesn't allow her ego to get the better of her.

There are more wide shots with the camera work than there was in the Melodifestivalen, when it was mainly shot in close up, but Loreen was well satisfied with these changes, as she feels it is betetr for the song and performance to see some more wide shots.

I believe that this song simply isn't SO good, that it would deserve wining... something's missing, but I can't figure out what bothers me. It is a very special song, but I wouldn't say that it's a classic dance hit... I prefer some other song more, but this one will probably end up in top 5. report to the moderator

It's very unusual, interesting, but I doubt she wins. europe chooses the songs that are so simple and without any difficulties. "i was born in nineties and ..." like fairy-tales) report to the moderator

I think that previous years winners(their countries) have been very supportive of their own acts because they knew that they deserved to win!
I think that the swedish people deserve to love their own act as much as they do! The reason? Their act(Loreen) is excellent, and deserves to do very well!
Every year a different kind of entry wins, and this years swedish entry is different, so what else can you ask? the few things she lacks in vocals, she makes up threefold in originality and atmosphere, and the song is catchy without being to repetitive.
Good luck Sweden!!!! report to the moderator

Gmilaz: Are you implying that Swedes are more biased than others in this forum? Well, then I don't believe that you have visited so many pages of other entries here, as you claim to have done. I have read many, many comments here praising other contries' entries made by Swedes. And FYI, even though Loreen won the Swedish final by the largest number of televotes ever cast in the Swedish final, many hard core fans of the strong runner up, Danny with his song Amazing, are very negative towards Loreen's song and have other favourites than Sweden in this contest. report to the moderator

    To "Gmilaz From Canada"

The new building being built in Stockholm is not only for the Eurovision, it will be a new national arena. It is built for much more than what you think. Yes, it will be the new arena for Sweden's Melodifestivalen, but it is not built in order for us to win the Eurovision Song Contest.
We, or I do not charge any victory in advance. But I think that we in Sweden have high expectations of Loreen and the premium. It's new, it stands out. In a few years, it is exactly this kind of music we will hear in the Eurovision. report to the moderator

Sweden makes much better music than this, at least as shown in the US. If this songs wins, it will stay in Eurovision (nothing compares to Cardigans or ABBA). report to the moderator
