Yerevan, Armenia -

After an initial announcement that the Armenian entry for Malmö 2013 would be internally selected, Public Television of Armenia has now changed plans: As many high-quality songs have been received, a national final will be organised on 2 March. The singer representing Armenia will still be internally chosen, and he/she will sing all the songs in the national final.

Earlier this year, we already reported that Armenia would internally select their representative for Malmö, with Sirusho being one of the most rumoured candidates. The decision which singer will represent the country will be announced shortly.

Today, the Armenian public broadcaster has revealed more details: The singer will be internally selected, but the Armenian song for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen in a national final. The decision will be jointly taken by the TV public and by an expert jury.

The application period to send in songs starts on 22 January and it ends on 20 February. Songs complying with the rules of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest can be emailed to [email protected]. The national final will be broadcast live on the First Channel of the Public Television of Armenia on 2 March.

Ok, good news but please do not send Emmy again. She was terrible (in my opinion) even if she is a ''popular'' singer in Armenia. report to the moderator

The final of 2011 was empty without Armenia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Send something good and different like ''Apricot stone''. You have huge history and music tradition! You have also countries to vote for you! You can win it many times!!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! report to the moderator

"High-quality proposals" huh? That's great! I bet the one-year of absence has inspired many Armenian song-writers to write something phenomenal upon their comeback...

Good luck Armenia! I prefer this sort of process, compared to internal selection... Let the best song wins! report to the moderator

Well, I agree with Armenian delegation heads that is good to give opportunities to all singers who want to represent their country.
But now, I think is difficult to see Sirush in Malmö now :/
Well, I hope they select great candidates!
GO ARMENIA! report to the moderator

I'm very happy to hear this! Armenian music industry is some of the best in Europe - it would be sad if we didn't get to hear some of the songs. :D report to the moderator
