Romanian selection gets underway

Submissions for songs for the Romanian selection for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will open tomorrow, Monday 18th January. Composers have until 7th February to submit their entries. 

Following this deadline the shortlist will be announced by Romanian broadcaster TVR ahead of two live shows; a semi final on March 4th and final on March 6th. In a change to recent years, the winner of the final will be decided solely by the public, juries will remain a part of the semi final stages. Visit the TVR website for more information. 

Romania has always qualified to the Grand Final, reaching 3rd place in both 2005 and 2010.


Oleksandr Skichko, Volodymyr Ostapchuk, and Timur Miroshnychenko will host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
