Reykjavik, Iceland -

No less than 297 songs were submitted to the Icelandic broadcaster RUV to be their entry at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Ten of them reached the live shows and six of them will battle tonight for the honour of representing Iceland in Copenhagen. Watch the show with us through our WebTV starting at 20:45 CET.

Iceland held two semi-finals leading up to tonight's final show in which the winner will represent the island at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Televoting picked two songs in each semi-final and an expert jury selected two wildcards. That means tonight's Söngvakeppnin 2014 show from the Háskólabíó in Reykjavik will have six participants.

The final line-up

This is the running order in tonight's final:

  1. F.U.N.K. - Þangað til ég dey (Franz Ploder Ottósson, Pétur Finnbogason and Lárus Örn Arnarsson)
  2. Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir - Amor (Haukur Johnson)
  3. Sigga Eyrún - Lífið kviknar á ný (Karl Olgeirsson & Sigga Eyrún)
  4. Gissur Páll Gissurarson - Von (Jóhann Helgason)
  5. Gréta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir - Eftir eitt lag (Ásta Björg Björgvinsdóttir / Bergrún Íris Sævarsdóttir)
  6. Pollapönk - Enga fordóma (Heiðar Örn Kristjánsson and Haraldur F. Gíslason)

The members of F.U.N.K. are Franz Ploder Ottósson, Pétur Finnbogason, Hörður Bjarkason, Egill Ploder Ottósson and Valbjörn Snær Lillendahl while Pollapönk are Heiðar Örn Kristjánsson, Haraldur Freyr Gíslason, Guðni Finnsson and Arnar Þór Gíslason.

The jury wildcards were awarded to songs 2 Amor and 3 Lífið kviknar á ný. The show will be hosted by Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir & Guðrún Dís.

The voting system

In the final, the first round of voting will consist of a combination of expert-jury voting and televoting (50/50), which will determine the top two. The top two songs will qualify to the second round of voting where televoting only will determine the winner.

In the second round the two songs will be performed in the language they wish to use if they make it to Copenhagen in May.

Remember you can watch the show with us in our WebTV starting at 20:45 CET.

Iceland will take part in the first half of the first Semi-Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place at the B&W-Hallerne on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 6th of May. The Second Semi-Final and Grand Final take place on the 8th and 10th of May respectively.

297 songs were submitted and 6 crappiest songs reached final.
Sorry Iceland, I don't wanna see any of these songs on the eurovision stage.
Pity. Icelandic entries were my strong favorites since 2008, but not this year.
Anyway good luck to Iceland. Hope you'll choose the best performance! report to the moderator
