San Marino -

Broadcaster SMTV has confirmed that it has signed a pre-agreement with Valentina Monetta to represent San Marino for the third time in Denmark next year.

At a meeting between SMTV, Valentina Monetta, her producer and Eurovision Song Contest veteran Ralph Siegel and artistic director Fabrizio Raggi, it was decided that Valentina will once again represent her country at the 2014 edition of Europe's favourite TV show in Denmark.

This year in Malmö she performed her song Crisalide but unfortunately failed to qualify for the Grand Final. Similarly in 2012, Valentina sang The Social Network Song in Baku, which also missed out on qualification.

Could 2014 be third time lucky for Valentina? As the months go by we will find out more about San Marino's participation and find out what they have up their sleeves.

The 2014 Eurovision Song Contest is currently set to take place on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May in Denmark. Stay tuned to Eurovision.tv for more news regarding this!

maziyar from the Iran, Islamic Republic Of: in their two first participations, San Marino borrowed singers from Italy to represent the small republic. And this is not the first time a country sends an artist three times in a row. Looking back into history, Udo Jürgens from Austria sang three times at Eurovision: the first one was in 1964, coming sixth; the second, one year later, he earned four place; and in 1966, he took his third time lucky, since he won Eurovision singing "Merci Cherie" in German, but with the title in French. So, the Sanmarinese decision on Valentina would not be so absurd at all, considering that it's the first time in almost 50 years that something like that occurs. report to the moderator

Third time lucky for San Marino?? I think Valentina could make it...I hope she can do it better, and with a kind of song that represents her, and that she feels comfortable about, to feel confident on stage. report to the moderator

Don't they have other singers?! They're doing a funny thing! Sending a singer 3 times won't bring them success. report to the moderator

San Marino is a small country so finding entries each year would be hard! Valentina has improved so much and deserved to qualify this year So hopefully third time lucky! report to the moderator

She had a song in English in 2012, and a very good song in 2013. Now, what she needs is a very good song AND in English for 2014. report to the moderator

In the back of my mind, I kinda had a feeling that Crisalide wasn't the end Valentina, although when I heard about this, I was quite suprised. I noticed that every year San Marino keeps on bettering their result. In 2008, they came last. Then they made a return and came 15th or 16th. Then they bettered their result again in 2012 when they came 14th, and once again they bettered their result by coming 11th. I believe San Marino can go all the way to the finals next year. I have very high hopes for San Marino.

GO VALENTINA! report to the moderator

Again ???? Pfff, There is no other singers in this lilliput place ????

Not that I'm an anti-Monetta, but I think It's time to change after her social network, and the ballad this year !!!

But she stays a good singer, I agree ! report to the moderator
