Belgrade, Serbia -

Željko Joksimović will represent Serbia in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with Nije Ljubav Stvar. It is his fourth attempt to win the competition, after coming very close in 2004. Željko talked exclusively to Eurovision.tv about his past experiences and preparations for Baku.

Željko Joksimović has an impressive CV where Europe's Favourite TV Show is concerned. His debut came in 2004 for Serbia & Montenegro, where he performed his composition Lane Moje, finishing second in the Final only to Ruslana from Ukraine.

In 2006, his composition Lejla took Hari Mata Hari to third place, Bosnia & Herzegovina's best ever placing in the Final. In 2008, Željko had a dual role, composer of the home Serbian entry Oro which Jelena Tomašević and Bora Dugic took to sixth place, and also co host of the contest with Jovana Janković, who would later become his wife.

Željko's Eurovision memories

So, what was Željko's best memory of all of his participations? Which role does he prefer, performer or composer? And are Serbia ready to host the contest again if he were to win in Baku? Check out our exclusive interview below to find out.

    @ Viktor D
It's just your point of view. I just said the truth and You may like it or dislike it.
I would be surprised if UK give any points to Serbia, but, come on, surprise us. :) report to the moderator

@ 1Soul, You really have to give it more positive. If you dislike or don`t want ESC in your country then ignore it and stop being so melodramatic. Let your representative give his best and stop making it harder if you don`t support him.Your comments are meaningless now..
Anyway, my vote goes to Serbia and I think ESC is piece of cake for Serbia to organize, the same it did back in 2008. report to the moderator

@1Soul now already beginning to annoy me

We are not rich, but we have fu*king money fpr Eurovision...even without EBU...

We organised so many music and sports events past years...We'll always have money for Eurovision....Because ESC is fu*king saint tradition, and every country should have money for that!!!

And,oh my God....That's Eurovision...not Olympics or FIFA World Cup...-.-''

P.S. Europeans come this year in Belgrade...because 27th,28th,29th will be the biggest party in the world...
We have new music festival called ''Belgrade Calling''....come and enjoy...

JESSIE J,OZZIE OSBOURNE & FRIENDS ft. SLASH,FAITH NO MORE,Orbital,The Cult,The Darkness,Example,Public Image Ltd,Public Enemy,S.A.R.S,Paradise Lost,Black Label Society,Satiricon,Sanatorium,The Horrors,Ugly Kid Joe,The Sisters Of Mercy and many surprise acts... report to the moderator

    @Viktor D

Thank you, but even if you vote for him it will still be 0 points for Serbia from UK, as always. Uk never gave any points to Serbia since its debut. Never ever.

Turkey and Estonia never gave any points to Serbia, also. Not even in 2007 when "Molitva" won the contest. Look at the scoreboards, if you want.

And even if half of the sum is provided by EBU, it still doesn't mean that it is enough for some countries, like Serbia... report to the moderator

    Bi*ch Please!!!

We're not rich country, but we'll always have money for Eurovision, great festivals and international sport events...

Without Serbia and United Kingdom and maybe Spain....social life of Europe is suck...

We have great entryu this year,I hope that we're gonna win....

This year we have many good songs like Sweden,Slovenia,France,B&H,Macedonia,Azerbaijan etc...

But,If someone deserves to win this year's contest that's ITALY!!! report to the moderator

I`ve just watched the new video for the song he made.It is great.Very emotional and suggestive. That boy made it simple but effective.Zelko is true artist and deserves to win.He has my vote definitely.
Serbians who think that Serbia has no money to host it again are wrong.Country is not the only one that finance the contest.Half of the sum is provided by EBU.Anyway I was in Belgrade in 2008 and I had the best time in my life and made some new great friends i am still having contact with.Would like to come back again.

For those who struggle proving us that swedish song is so amazing I would say it was ok at the begining but get bored after so many listenings. report to the moderator

1 soul@ firstly thank you for the last 3 sentences!! :-) and secondly, nina's song for me, personally, wasn't a good song, sorry! i don't want to become harsh and i'm not a 'western-guy, who supports west and doesn't support the east' , i'm just someone who thinks just for the deserved song should be voted instead of friendly, religious, neighbour voting, that's all................... report to the moderator
