The last to rehearse today in Malmö Arena was Anouk from the Netherlands. As soon as she got on the stage, she mesmerised us all with her voice. But before she performed her ballad Birds, we followed her to the backstage.

If you talk about this year’s Ukrainian representative in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, you automatically think of a butterfly. In her first rehearsal, Zlata Ognevich has not only transmitted the feelings of lightness and fairytale, the singer was herself a tiny butterfly carried out on stage by a giant.

Dina Garipova, the Russian Eurovision representative, showed a vocally strong performance of her heartwarming ballad What If in the first rehearsal today. On stage she peformed in a dark blue setting surrounded by shining white bubbles.

Among the first semi-finalists who were rehearsing in Malmö Arena today was also Klapa s mora from Croatia. They are going to perform a traditional song from Dalmatia.

Straight Into Love is the title of the Slovenian song in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. And straight into the stage was our third female artist in a row today, the lovely Hannah. We met her backstage and attended her first rehearsal in the Malmö Arena, something she was really looking forward to after weeks of preparation.

Birgit Õigemeel, who is representing Estonia,was the second act on stage to rehearse in the Malmo Arena, with the song commencing with a black and white effect on television for the opening lines before bursting into full colour.

In 2007 Elitsa & Stoyan surprised the viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with their mix of ethno, percussion and modern beats in the song Voda (Water). They were rewarded with a 5th place, the best so far for their country, Bulgaria. They are ready to repeat the experience in Malmö and try to improve on that performance with Samo Shampioni (Only Champions).
