The Official Opening Ceremony for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was held this evening in Malmö Opera, where all the artists and delegations were invited by Malmö city, Region Skåne, host broadcaster SVT and EBU.

The last of the finalists to made their first rehearsal today was Italy. Marco Mengoni, the reigning Sanremo champion, arrived quietly and was looking forward getting his first contact with the stage of the Malmö Arena.

Legendary performer Bonnie Tyler took to the stage this afternoon in the Malmö Arena to have her first rehearsal of Believe In Me, the song that will represent the United Kingdom in this year's contest, and it certainly was an uplifting experience for her, as she is raised upwards on the platform of the catwalk stage.

L'Enfer Et Moi is the title of the French entry in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, and it's certainly a very powerful tune, and Amandine Bourgeois' voice does match the power of the song, as she clearly demonstrated in her rehearsal today!

El Sueño De Morfeo (ESDM) were the first of the so-called "Big 6" countries to rehearse their song Contigo Hasta El Final at the Malmö Arena today. We were there to follow their rehearsal both backstage and on stage.

Romania was the seventeenth and final country to take to the Malmö Arena stage today. Cezar was keen to give a very good performance of his song It's My Life, which definitely made an impact in the hall.
