The Host Country for this year's Eurovision Song Contest - Russia - was represented by an Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prikhodko and the song Mamo. The extremely emotional ballade about her mother's advice brought Russia another high placing - eleventh with 91 points.

Today the Russian participant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Anastasia Prikhodko, rehearsed for the first time in the arena. She dedicated her song Mamo to her mother. Her ballad has a melancholic Slavonic character with elements of sadness and drama in it.

Host Country of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Russia has chosen to go with a powerful ballade again. This time it'll be a female singer Anastasia Prikhdko with Mamo (Mother).

Tonight the Russian national final took place in Moscow, and the winner is Anastasia Prikhodko! Out of three superfinalists, she was chosen by an expert jury. Anastasia will represent Russia with the song Mamo in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.
