Serbian broadcaster, RTS has announced that it is to introduce a new selection format to choose its representative for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. One composer will contribute songs to a contest where various artists chosen by the composer and RTS will compete for the right to represent Serbia in Oslo in May.

After a spectacular event at the Sava Centar in Belgrade, Serbia has chosen it's representative for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Marko Kon & Milan Nikolić will represent the Balkan country with the song Cipela. Two additional performers from yesterday's semi-final were added to the line-up, Ivana Selakov and Ana Nikolic, but only Ivana decided to show up.

Last night, Serbian broadcaster RTS revealed the names of the twenty hopefuls taking part in Beovizija, the national selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. On the 7th of March, they will compete for just ten tickets to the national final, one day later.

Serbian broadcaster RTS postponed the national selection Beovizija 2008, after recent developments in Kosovo. The Serbian province declared itself independent Sunday afternoon, after long negotiations over its status could not lead to a solution of mutual agreement.
