Malta's representative this year was Chiara. It was her third time to take this huge responsibility but she did not fail once again - qualifying from the Semi-Final, she made it to the Final, gathered 31 points and finished 22nd.

The Maltese entry What If We got a complete makeover by the production for Friday's rehearsal. The backdrop imagery was fully changed from the first rehearsal, on request from the Maltese delegation. But there was a new problem for Chiara on stage – the smoke went into her mouth.

The second round of rehearsals is under way in Moscow. This means plenty of discussions between artists and the production side, when the performances are sharpened up for the broadcasts. The Lithuanian entry has been one of the most discussed. After the concrete opinions issued from Sasha Son and his team, the production now holds the entry on top priority.

For the second round of rehearsals, many countries change details in the backdrop of their stage show. For Malta, the LED screens had a more varied colour for Friday's rehearsal.But Chara saves her stage costume for the dress rehearsals.

For the third time, the island of Malta will be represented by Chiara. After finishing in third place in 1998 and second place in 2005, Chiara is hoping to go one better this year and win the ultimate prize with her 2009 entry What If We.
