The Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, hosted by German public broadcaster NDR, was awarded a Rose d'Or for Best Live Event Show yesterday in Lucerne, Switzerland. Stefan Raab, who co-hosted the show, was awarded with an Innovation Rose.

Saturday night saw Ell/Nikki take the title as Eurovision Song Contest winners, and many former winners were present in Düsseldorf to see the new champions take the crown. Amongst them was Lys Assia, who was the very first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland in 1956 with the song Refrain.
