Today saw the first rehearsals by the participants of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in the Düsseldorf Arena. Also, all of them had a chance to meet the press and the fans too!

Magdalena Tul, representing Poland, will be the first performer of the Eurovision event, singing her song which means 'I am' in Polish. As Magdalena says: "I wanted to write an up-tempo song. It's about a relationship between a strong man and a strong woman."

The first rehearsals of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest just got underway, with Poland opening proceedings. Magdalena Tul was the first artist to get a feel for what it was like to be on the huge stage in the Düsseldorf arena, when she rehearsed the Polish entry Jestem.

In a prime time broadcast Monday night, Magdalena Tul with her song Jestem was chosen to represent Poland in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The show was decided by televoting only. Magdalena Tul will compete in the first half of the first semi-final of the contest, on the 10th of May.

Monday night, Poland will pick the country's champion for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. The Polish representative for Düsseldorf will be decided from a line-up of ten acts by televoting only.

The Polish broadcaster TVP has revealed three more wildcards for the national final. Earlier this week, three other wildcards were added, and simultaneously disqualification struck one of the previously announced acts. The three Friday wildcards are Alizma, Formula RC and ZoSia.

Moments ago, the Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest took place in Düsseldorf, Germany. Under scrutiny of Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the contest on behalf of the EBU, and a representative from Digame. Digame is the EBU's official voting partner and handles the pan-European response platform over which the contest's voting runs.

Polish broadcaster TVP has revealed the first 5 participants for their national final Krajowe Eliminacje 2011 which will take place on the 14th of February. Some other songs will be added at a later date.
