The Netherlands picks Sieneke for Oslo
Sieneke (17) will represent the Netherlands at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo with Ik Ben Verliefd (Shalalie). That was the conclusion of tonight's Nationaal Songfestival. She will perform in the second Semi-Final on the 27th of May, as determined during today's Semi-Final Allocation Draw.

Tonight, a professional jury and the studio audience will decide who will represent the Netherlands in Oslo with the song Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie). The five contestants, all coached by famous Dutch singers, will each sing their own version of the song, written by Pierre Kartner. The Nationaal Songfestival 2010, which starts at 21:10 CET, and the press conference afterwards, will be streamed live.

Five new talents - four individuals and one group - scouted by well known Dutch artists, will compete for the Dutch ticket to Oslo during the Nationaal Songfestival on the 7th of February. The lucky five will all sing their own versions of Shalalie, Ik Ben Verliefd, a song composed by Pierre Kartner.

Ik Ben Verliefd, Shalalie (I Am In Love, Shalalie) is the title of the Dutch entryfor the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. It is the first song known for the upcoming contest in Oslo, Norway. Earlier, it was announced that Pierre Kartner was asked to write the song, which will for sure be performed in Dutch.

Dutch composer Pierre Kartner, also known as Father Abraham, has been asked to write and compose the Dutch entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Broadcaster TROS asked the 74-year old composer, internationally most known as the creator and singer of The Smurfs tune, to write a song in Dutch.
