Italy has only ended in the Top 10 since their broadcaster decided to rejoin the Eurovision Song Contest. This year all their hopes fall in the winning song of their Sanremo Festival, L'Essenziale (The Essential) and its performer, Marco Mengoni.

It's less than five hours for Europe's favourite TV show to start. The artists in the Grand Final of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest are ready to go on stage in the Malmö Arena and perform the 26 competing songs for theTV viewers all over the world!

With just a short while to go until tonight's Second Semi-Final in the Malmö Arena, we went backstage to check on the artists as they make their final preparations before going on stage.

Simplicity on stage but vocal perfectionism – that what Marco Mengoni’s entrance is about. During his second rehearsal, the audience in the Malmö Arena enjoyed Marco’s beautiful and moving ballad L'Essenziale.

Today it was time for Cascada to rehearse their glorious dance song once again in the Malmö Arena. The stage act includes pyrotechnical effects, artificial smoke, an elaborate choreography - and a staircase! On top of that, the lead singer Natalie Horler delivered a very convincing vocal performance.

Exactly 12 hours after the first Semi-Final proclaimed its ten winners, the lights of the Malmö Arena stage were turned on again for the second round of rehearsals of the direct finalists. Spain's band ESDM was the first one out to rehearse their song Contigo Hasta El Final (With You Until The End).

The last of the finalists to made their first rehearsal today was Italy. Marco Mengoni, the reigning Sanremo champion, arrived quietly and was looking forward getting his first contact with the stage of the Malmö Arena.

Legendary performer Bonnie Tyler took to the stage this afternoon in the Malmö Arena to have her first rehearsal of Believe In Me, the song that will represent the United Kingdom in this year's contest, and it certainly was an uplifting experience for her, as she is raised upwards on the platform of the catwalk stage.

Robin Stjernberg, this year’s Swedish representative entered the stage for his first rehearsal today. It certainly is a big honour for Robin to present his home country Sweden this year. On stage, the singer stayed himself – confident and natural - and delivered a truly exciting performance.

L'Enfer Et Moi is the title of the French entry in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, and it's certainly a very powerful tune, and Amandine Bourgeois' voice does match the power of the song, as she clearly demonstrated in her rehearsal today!

Switzerland is represented by a quite unique band, Takasa, which includes musicians ranging from 21-year-old Sarah Breiter to 95-year-old Emil Ramsauer. The latter is the oldest artist ever to perform on a Eurovision stage. They showed yet another solid performance of their rock-ish song You And Me today.

The Hungarian representative ByeAlex rehearsed his laid-back song Kedvesem for the second time in Malmö today. This time, the backdrop displayed parts of the song lyrics translated to English along with colourful sketches designed by the singer's sister.

The lead vocalist Gor Sujyan always manages to be laid-back, charismatic but convincing. Exactly these feelings the Armenian representative aired in the Malmö Arena during his second rehearsal. Together with his band Dorians, they delivered a very nice, and vocally powerful, performance.

Drums, beats and ethnic sounds - those are some of the main ingredients of the Bulgarian entry Samo Shampioni (Only Champions). Elitsa and Stoyan brought their rhythms to the Malmö Arena today, and they showed yet another smashing performance in their second rehearsal.

This year’s Azerbaijani entrant Farid Mammadov could conquer hearts of a lot of fans with his charming smile and his beautiful ballad Hold Me. During his second rehearsal, the singer delivered a near-on perfect show.
