In recent years, Switzerland has always been one of the first countries to pick their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. This year will be no exception: tonight, at 20:05 CET, nine acts will join the battle for the ticket to Malmö next May in the Swiss final Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow. Earlier ths week the Spanish broadcaster TVE informed that the act that will represent Spain in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest has been chosen internally and will be announced shortly. We also know now that the Spanish song is going to be selected in a live TV show with public participation.

Lithuania is one of the countries that selects next year's Eurovision Song Contest entry before 2012 comes to an end.

As previously reported, Belgium will choose its song for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest on Sunday the 16th of December in a live radio final. Now broadcaster RTBF and record label Sony Music Belgium have announced the titles of the songs being performed by Roberto Bellarosa.

After weeks of rumours the Spanish broadcaster, TVE, decided to communicate today through their website their plans for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. The Spanish performer will be chosen again through an internal selection.

After the qualification shows were over, it was time for LRT to broadcast the first semi-final. Nine acts competed to get the first places in the final on the 22nd of December. The votes of the audience, which account for 50% of the total result were announced in the end.

Belarus was the first country to hold a televised national selection for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. In a truly spectacular show, a 50/50 combination of televoting and a professional jury unanimously decided that Alyona Lanskaya will go on to represent the country in Malmö!
